Privacy Policy

In short

You can use MP3Skull without registering and without telling us who you are. We do not run accounts, newsletters or comment forms. The rest of this page describes the little data that is still involved when a page loads.

What we receive

  • Server records: like every website, our server notes the address of the visitor (IP), the browser and device used, the time and the page asked for. This is needed to deliver pages, spot attacks and fix errors.
  • Your cookie choice: when you answer the cookie notice, a small cookie and a matching browser entry remember it for up to one year, so the notice does not return on every visit.
  • Email you send: if you write to us we keep the message and your address only as long as needed to answer you.

About cookies

We do not use cookies for ads or for building profiles. The only cookie we create is the one that remembers your answer to the cookie notice. Players and tools that come from other companies can create their own, and that is why the notice lets you refuse everything that is not essential. To change your answer, use the cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.

Content from other companies

Some parts of a song page are supplied by other services. When they load, they see your IP address and browser details and follow their own privacy rules:

  • The video is shown with the privacy-enhanced YouTube player (youtube-nocookie.com, from Google). Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play, and thumbnails come from YouTube's image servers (i.ytimg.com).
  • The MP3 converter is an external tool run by an independent provider. It is loaded only when you ask for it.

Why we may use your data

Keeping the site working and safe is our legitimate interest. For anything that is not strictly necessary, such as cookies set by outside players, we rely on your consent, and you can withdraw it at any moment.

How long we keep it

Server records are kept only for as long as security and error-fixing require. Emails are erased after your question has been handled.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your country, rules such as the GDPR or the CCPA may let you ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, limit its use, receive a copy, or object to it. Write to us at the address below and we will answer. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Young visitors

MP3Skull is meant for a general audience and not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Updates to this page
